Terminating a Daycare Place

If your child is to leave daycare, you, as the guardian, must terminate the placement. Termination should be made in writing in advance and submitted before the child’s departure. Termination of the placement should be done 30 calendar days before the last participation day.

Interrupting participation in early childhood education requires a break of at least 1 month (30 calendar days). If the child wishes to participate in early childhood education again at a later point in time, a new application is made.

The form is also available at the early childhood education office and at the units. The form should be submitted to the units or to the early childhood education office at the Municipal Hall.

If the termination form has not been submitted before the last participation day, billing will continue until the end of the month. Approved changes take effect at the beginning of the following month.

Children participating in early childhood education at group family daycare centers or daycare centers have an ongoing care agreement until the day the child starts preschool.

Children in preschool have an agreement that begins in August when the school year starts. However, the agreement for preschool children always ends on 31 May.

School children in morning and afternoon activities have an agreement that starts and ends in accordance with the school year.
