Fees and Submitting Income Information

The fee for early childhood education is based on the size of the family, the need for service, and the family’s gross income. Family size includes individuals living in the same household as married or cohabiting partners, as well as both partners’ minor children living in the same household.

When the child’s guardians reside at different addresses and the child lives alternately with the guardians, but early childhood education is provided for the child only in one municipality, the fee is determined based on the income of the family in which the child is registered according to the population register. If early childhood education is provided for the child in two municipalities, the fee should be determined separately in both municipalities.

The highest fee is charged if the family does not provide income information. To determine the daycare fee, we need the following certificates:

  • Income certificate
  • Tax decision (with the specification part)
  • Certificate of maternity, parental, or daily allowance
  • Certificate of any maintenance allowance or support
  • Certificate of unemployment benefits / studies
  • Certificate of other income, such as flexible childcare allowance.
